I really support what you all are doing, which is why I feel like I have to point out a major concern with this video. The message that "fathers don't care so much about who's in office" just really feels like the wrong message for this moment. The rest of that quote isn't great either- that "what they really care about is whether or not they can provide for their kids." And, these statements appear to be based on interviews with a total of 32 dads nationwide. I know a lot of dads (prob more than 32) who are pretty upset about who's in office and not because it affects their own financial standing, but because of what it means for the world beyond our homes. I mean, look at the protests today. There were lots of dads there.

That’s a fair assessment — the study isn’t ours, it’s from one of the conference organizers. I think the point is that they were trying to make is that issues around childcare and child safety are winning ones for dads across both party lines. Maybe the interviewee didn’t articulate it that way, but I think that was the spirit of what she was saying. If we can unite dads around these issues, they will vote for candidates who support those issues. — Peter

Appreciate the thoughtful reply. And, more than anything else, I'm just glad there's a space to think/talk about how fatherhood is (or should be) evolving to meet this moment.
